Graduate Presentation – May 31, 2019 Phoenix Society

Monday, May 27th, 2019

We have two graduate counsellors, Ryan and Nate, visiting us on Friday, May 31st, 2019 from 12PM until 1PM.

Ryan and Nate represent the Phoenix Society where Ryan is the Addictions Services Manager and Nate is the Program Director. They will be here to talk about their experiences working in the addictions field and what led them to their current position after graduating from VCCT.  Phoenix Society also regularly recruits our students and graduates so this is a great opportunity for anyone interested in addiction counselling.

This is a free event and we invite you join us. Please feel free to bring a guest! Just let us know if you are planning to attend as space may be limited.

Thank you!

VCCT is on the CPCA’s approved institution list

What does this mean?

Well, it means that VCCT graduates do not have to prove that their education meets the CPCA criteria when applying to the association.  We have already done that for you.  CPCA has thoroughly reviewed the curriculum for our diploma program and determined that it includes all the core competencies and sufficient skills practice hours required to meet their academic criteria.

You will, however, still need to fulfill all other requirements including submitting reference letters, criminal record report and proof of liability insurance, etc.

CPCA and ACCT are both FactBC member associations and we encourage all students/graduates to research both associations before making a decision to pursue a professional designation.

Please be reminded that CPCA will be visiting VCCT on Wednesday, November 14th at 12PM.  Please be sure to join us on campus or online for the presentation.

Have a great day everyone!
